(I bought this laptop at a local Fry's but I wanted to review it here) I have been using this laptop to run The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on ULTRA HIGH settings all maxed with no lag. I get 60 FPS and when running bandicam, it stays the same! No drop of FPS. Some people do not like Windows 8, and not having the start menu was very annoying, but I have adjusted perfectly by installing a program called Start8, which has a start menu that looks great for the windows 8 theme (you can also change it to look like the windows 7 start menu). The program is $5 though, so if you are looking for a free alternative I suggest "Startisback".

I received about a day ago, and I'm quite impressed with the performance of this laptop. First off, the packaging was solid, so I wasn't really worried about damage from delivery. Opening the case, I found a neat, organized box. All the anti static bags were sealed and all parts arrived perfectly. A quick warning though, if you're going to register your laptop for the warranty, which you should, please make sure that you get the serial number that's in the battery port before you place it an boot it up.
The laptop is sleek and attractive. I read a couple of reviews where they read that it looks cheap, because it definitely doesn't. The only issue I have with the matte finish is that it gets dirty so quickly. I jokingly said that I'm going to have to put on a pair of gloves whenever I use or carry it. In regards to performance, performance is great, especially for the price. I'm running recent triple A games with no problem. Some games carry a little struggle, but a quick fps lock to 30 or 45 will resolve that. Considering that the boost goes up to 3.4 ghz, this shouldn't be a problem either. The display on the machine is beautiful and clear. I personally like machines this wide, so it's not a problem for me.
The keyboard itself is good. The RGB is very nice and sleek. It's not overpowering to the point where it blinds you. The customization is fun as well. The Steelseries keyboard is smooth, and jelly-feeling. This is a minor turnoff for me, as I am a fan of mechanical keyboards, but as far as laptop keyboards go, it's smooth sailing that I don't mind. It comes with a few extra inputs, euro symbol, built in numpad and such.
The trackpad.....oh, the trackpad....This is the only issue that I have with the laptop. The trackpad with sluggish and has a very mechanical feel which sometimes makes me wonder if this was the one part of the laptop that they did not invest too much in. Now, I have not fiddled too much with any other settings for the track pad, so I will edit it this with an update.
Overall, 9/10. A definite easy buy I would recommend for any college student, gamer enthusiast and even casual users. For less than a the price of a Macbook Pro, you have this behemoth of a laptop that outperforms nearly all laptops in its price range.

It's been barely 2 months since I got this gaming laptop for my daughter.This laptop has been wonderful.It's very fast and it plays all the steam games very nicely.However, it started to do random reboots about a month ago.Ignored those reboots for a little while since it would come back normally.However, just now, the laptop will never boot back to Windows anymore.It always go to Blue Screen with some random errors.I even tried to do Safe Mode.It was able to boot at Safe Mode and was able to backup my daughter's MineCraft Data and some of her flip cam videos before it would crash to Blue Screen even in Safe Mode.
So, since it's been over 30 days, I can't return anymore to Amazon.I did register this laptop to MSi and was able to post this issue through their tech support.I have warranty until 9/14/2014, so hopefully MSi will be able to help us out on this one.I have a feeling that there's some hardware problem with the laptop.Will have to wait how this goes.
Good thing though that we still have our old laptop that my daughter can still use but that's not a gaming laptop.That's a Toshiba laptop which is over a year old already and no problems whatsoever.
But still, having spent about $1,200 laptop and barely 2 months old and this.I'm very disappointed.
We'll see how MSi's customer service will fair though.Hoping for the best on this.At this time, I cannot this MSi laptop anymore.

This laptop is just amazing.
Noticeable pros: -Runs BF3 medium-highish flawlessly (never tried on ultra and don't want to) -No heat. I've played 10+ hours STRAIGHT and barely any heat. -Admirable design. -Huge screen + 1080p = WIN -Battery cord is quite long in my opinion -Extra buttons at the top for extra fan support, turbo boost, etc.
Cons: -2h30min battery life -Keyboard sucks! Doesn't register keys well at all, but I'm pretty sure people will use an external keyboard for gaming -Mouse also lacks quality. Sure it looks good, but the buttons are a trouble to push, and the non-flat surface feels weird. -Fingerprints? Isn't really that bad to me, but maybe that's because I don't touch it often (external kb+m)
The pros definitely outweigh the cons, so a must buy. And if you're buying for gaming, you won't mind the faulty keyboard and mouse. That's why I gave this product a 5 as opposed to a 4.
UPDATE: After having this PC for almost exactly a year, it runs BF3 on low at a decent frame rate (64 players). It runs BF4 on low extremely well (never lagged ever), but I can't run BF4 everything on medium without some lag. The game does look kind of bad on low compared to how BF3 looked, but oh well, it feels the same! And remember, this is after 1 year, so of course it would be able to run BF4 smoothly brand new (I bought mine refurbished).

I love this computer!! Have had it for almost a year now and have had zero issues with it. I use it multiple hours a day and play all my games in ultra or high settings with little issue. It can get a little hot when playing graphics intense games(as do most laptops) but just hit the 100% cooling fan button and problem solved. I also purchased a cooling mat for it just to be extra safe. The only negative i can think of would be the battery life but realistically i can pretty much plug it in wherever i go. THIS IS A GAMING LAPTOP!!
I've recently begun to renew my interest in PC gaming, yet I did not want to invest $2500 in my dream laptop/desktop, wanting something that could be functional for both work and play. The MSI GE70 is a perfect blend of the two. Screen: the resolution is 1920x1080 and man, is it beautiful. it's a matte display, so be prepared for dirty whites, but the viewing angles are more than worth it. Keyboard: it's a steelseries keyboard, which is very reliable. only gripe with the keyboard is properly depressing the keys, but that's "user error" Graphics: it's an nVidia GTX660m which is more than enough to run Battlefield, as well as pretty much any game you want to throw at it. Be advised, games such as Metro 2033 do require tweaking of some settings, so i you want everything truly maxed out for every current game this is NOT the laptop for you. Audio: loud. clear. I can understand what people are saying in movies 30 feet away. that's impressive, especially coming from a Toshiba laptop Processor: Intel i7 3rd gen Ivy Bridge proc great for processor-hungry games Memory: 8GB RAM, I have had up to 50 combined tabs on chrome running and I haven't noticed a slowing down. this is before I dropped my SSD and mSATA in here Hard Drive: ships with a 750GB 7200rpm HDD, which is ok, but I ended up upgrading with a Mushkin mSATA and an OCZ 240GB 2.5" SSD. I moved the hard drive to where my DVD drive is using the NEW SATA 2nd HDD caddy for 12.7mm Universal CD/DVD-ROM, giving me 360GB of SSD and 750GB of HDD. DVD Drive: felt plasticky. took it out in favor of using it as a hard drive space Hot Keys: there's a fan that manually cranks the fans up, doesn't get too loud, not noticeable during movie watching, can't hear it at all with headphones during gaming. The turbo button is automatically it up when a process requires more juice than the integrated graphics can handle. Body: it's glossy, so be prepared for fingerprints galore. I knew this going into it, so I'm not too upset. if fingerprints drive you nuts, please DO NOT buy this laptop Ports: 2xUSB 3.0, 2xUSB2.0 1xHDMI, 1xVGA, 1x Ethernet port Webcam & Mic: eh, I'm personally going to get a better one, works fine in a pinch Other Thoughts: I wish it shipped with an SSD stock, but that's easily fixed. ***UPDATE 26/12/2012*** Laptop still works great. I have an mSATA as my OS drive, an SSD for all my games, and I will soon be using another SSD for my movies, music, and other programs. With the all SSD set-up, it does run a bit cooler. Games: it can run Battlefield 3, but not at max settings. The GPU does crank up the heat when playing graphics-heavy games, so a quality notebook cooler might not be a bad investment. This computer can run Far Cry 3 and Skyrim, but again, not at the highest settings. If you really want to game at max, invest in a laptop with dual SLI/XFire or get a desktop with a GTX 680. If you want to game on the go, this is fine. Keyboard: for those asking, it is NOT backlit, that would be the GT series Mouse: I went and got a CoolerMaster Storm Spawn mouse and it satisfies my needs for gaming. Wireless: sadly, this is not a wifi card that supports dual band, but such cards can be found online, and the replacement of the card seems to be quick.
I highly recommend that people get an mSATA or an SSD for their boot drive and potentially as a storage drive, as applications load much faster; my boot time from hitting the power button to fully loading Facebook is 24 seconds. Still a 5 star product for its class

This computer is great! The only problem I've had is that the microphone is not very good. Even at its highest sensitivity I could almost not hear myself talking on recorded videos. I got a USB mic and could hear myself just fine on normal sensitivity. I think it's worth it to get this computer and just spend $10 on a USB mic if you need to skype or record videos.
